Co-owner and Therapist
Pronouns: She / Her
Feeling out of balance, anxious, overwhelmed, stuck, low energy, or not feeling present in your body? It's understandable to be experiencing some or all of these symptoms while existing in this white-supremacist, patriarchal, capitalist country. It's not our fault that traumatic things have happened to us. We can't undo our past, but we can learn, practice, and embody new ways of being. We will do this work collaboratively as an act of resistance!
I utilize holistic therapy, a strength-based anti-oppression framework, narrative therapy, mindfulness, & emphasize community involvement to assist clients in identifying their own solutions forward.
I have over a decade of experience as a Social worker in: an inpatient Psychiatric hospital, multiple Detroit Community Mental Health agencies, as a re-entry case manager assisting folks transitioning from prison back into their communities, as a lead therapist at a Detroit homeless shelter, doing antiracism work with other white people, as a trained Restorative Justice Circle keeper, and most recently joined IYK as a worker-owner in 2024. I am a therapist with IYK, an unschooling/forest school Mama, emergent herbalist, and a community organizer focused on building abolitionist crisis response in Detroit with Motor City Mobile Wellness.
My therapy practice is rooted in healing justice principles, conceptualizing mental health treatment as a form of social justice work within a society designed to keep folks traumatized, oppressed and disconnected. Each of us possess inherent strengths and gifts and I aim to explore those deeply with you in a space where you feel safe and accepted for exactly who you are.
I believe that we chose to be here at this exact moment in history, and feel a deep commitment and responsibility to organize towards building a more revolutionary and compassionate network of care in Detroit.
