Therapy
Therapy has often been stigmatized or not prioritized in our society and various cultures and communities. IYK is here to challenge this by trying to meet you where you are at on your mental health or healing journey. We do this by providing services that are rooted in our name, Faith in Resistance. We support you by recognizing that most of our life challenges, anxieties, and depressive symptoms often stem from systems of oppression such as white supremacy, patriarchy, and capitalism. Through naming, resisting, and processing such trauma and harm, we work together to become our most authentic selves so that we can thrive and build the communities that continue to resist and liberate.
We understand that healing looks different for everyone, so we use diverse therapeutic modalities, and we are always learning and adapting to your needs and the ever-changing world. Therefore, we offer both virtual and in-person sessions, and some therapists offer walk-and-talk therapy, art therapy, and somatic-based therapeutic modalities. We do our best to be culturally responsive and accessible to our clients’ needs because we know that healing is most successful when it responds to our intersecting identities. There is no one way or right way to do therapy. We will work together to assess your needs and come up with a plan for healing.
